Helene Gaudry

     Helene was born on Sunday, 5 March 1656 in ville de Quebec, Quebec, Canada. She was christened there on 5 March 1656 in the Basilica of Notre Dame.¹ A contract for the marriage of Helene & Pierre Boucher was signed on 13 December 1671. The notary, Gilles Ragot wrote the contract that listed Pierre's parents as Francois Boucher and Florence Garman. Also, Helene's parents were Nicolas Gardry and Agnes Morin..² Pierre & Helene had children: Ignace [5/25/1673-4/06/1741][m. 11/17/1699 Francoise Pouillot], Jeanne-Elisabeth [7/29/1675-1/20/1703], Marie-Helene [8/11/1678-2/04/1748][m. 1700 Jean-Baptiste Lemay dit Larondiere], Agnes [3/14/1681-7/__/1684], Francois [3/14/1684-10/23/1760][m. 11/28/1709 Therese Marier], Jean [1686-2/23/1715], Marie Marguerite [9/21/1688-1/16/1745][m. 11/02/1716 Pierre Homier], Joseph [1690-5/05/1766][m. 4/28/1716 Marie-Anne Frechette & 2nd 4/03/1758 Angelique Bonneau], Marie-Madeleine [7/22/1692-4/22/1759][m. 1720 Jacques Desharnais & 2nd 8/29/1734 Jacques Baron] & Francoise-Therese [1/16/1698-3/25/1703].³ 1681, Helene and her husband, Pierre, were listed on the Canadian Census in Comte-de-Levis, Quebec, Canada. Enumerated in this household were Pierre Boucher [30 years], Helene Gaudry [25 years], Ignace [7 years], Jeanne [5 years], Marie [3 years] & Agnes [6 months].⁴ Helene's husband, Pierre, died on 10 March 1702 in ville de Quebec at Hotel-Dieu leaving her a widow. Helene departed this life in St-Nicolas, Levis County, Quebec, Canada. She was buried there in the churchyard of St-Nicolas on Tuesday, 22 November 1712.⁵
