A contract for the marriage of Jean and Madeleine Prunier was signed on 4 November 1671 in Cap-de-la-Madeleine, Quebec, Canada. The notary, Jean Cusson wrote the contract of marriage stating that Jean was the son of Nicolas Gaillou and ______Geder. Also, that Marie Madeleine was the daughter of Francois Prunier and Catherine Poulet.1 Jean & Madeleine had children: Nicolas [11/20/1673-10/27/1734][m. 3/02/1699 Madeleine David & 2nd 1713 Marie-Catherine Masse], Marie [9/14/1674], Marie Madeleine [2/16/1676-11/03/1692] & Jeanne Judith [9/01/1677].2 1681, Jean and Madeleine were listed on the Canadian Census in Champlain, Les Chenaux County, Quebec, Canada. Enumerated in this household were Jean Gaillou [37 years], Marie Prunier [40 years], Nicolas [8 years], Marie [6 years] & Jeanne Judith [3 years].3 Jean's wife, Madeleine, died on 10 April 1689 in Champlain leaving him a widower. A contract for the marriage of Jean and Anne Faye was signed on 8 November 1694 in Cap-de-la-Madeleine, Quebec, Canada. The notary, Jean Cusson, signed the marriage contract that states Jean to be the widower of Marie Madeleine Prunier and that Marie Anne was the daughter of the late Pierre Fahy and the late Marie Jospehe _____.4
