Margery (?)

     Margery was born in England. Margery married John Bassett, son of Robert Bassett, circa 1620 in England. Margery's husband, John, died before 20 February 1652 in New Haven, New Haven County, Connecticut, leaving her a widow. She and her hon, Robert, then removed to Stamfort; She and her son Robert moved to Stamford to property purchased by her husband shortly before his death. Margery made her will in June 1653 at Stamford, Fairfield County, Connecticut. She mentions her son, Robert, who is to receive her house & lot at New Haven, her two daughters: wives of John Emery & John Webb, and that her two daughters: Sarah & Elizabeth were not yet married.¹ Her will was probated in May 1656. Margery departed this life before 17 May 1656 in Stamford, Fairfield County, Connecticut.
