Fannie Durkee

     Fannie was born on Thursday, 30 October 1834 at New York. She was the daughter of James Durke. She was first married to James Henry Ferguson. Fannie married John Catlin Stedman, son of John D. Stedman II and Sylvia Catlin, on 20 February 1869. 10 August 1870, Fannie and her husband, John, were listed on the U.S. Federal Census in Unadilla Township, Livingston County, Michigan. Enumerated in this household were John C. Steadman [63 New York], Fannie [36 New York], John O [30 New York] & Belle Furgeson 17 Micxhigan]. John is farming on land that is valued at $5000 and has personal prooerty valued at $2000.¹ 1 June 1880, Fannie and her husband, John, were listed on the U.S. Federal Census in Unadilla Township. Enumerated in this household were John Stedman [73 New York], Fannie [45 New York], John O. [42 New York] & Belle Furgeson [27 New York], John Sr is a farmer, his son John is teaching school and Belle is teaching music.² Fannie departed this life on Friday, 28 March 1890 in Unadilla Township at age 55 years, 4 months and 28 days. She was buried at Unadilla Township, Livingston County, Michigan, in the Baseline Cemetery.³
