Anne Dorifall

Anne was born in 1610 in England. On 10 April 1634, Anne left her home in England aboard the ship, "Elizabeth", under the command of Captain William Andrews, bound for New England. She had been hired to be maid servant to William Coddington with the provision that he would help pay her passage.. At the age of 24 years, they sailed into the Massachusetts Bay some six months later.1 She was admitted to the church at Boston on 2 November 1634. Anne married Sergeant Thomas Spencer, son of Gerard Spencer and Alice Whitbred, on 2 November 1634 in Cambridge, Middlesex County, Massachusetts. On 8 February 1636, Thomas' name appears on a list as owner of one house in Cambridge. Later in 1636, they removed to what is now Hartford, Connecticut and he became one of the founders along with Nathaniel Bearding and William Andrews. Anne departed this life circa 1644 in Hartford, Hartford County, Connecticut. In 1680, her brother, Barnabas of Braintree, left all his estate to his kinsman, Samuel Spencer, who was to pay to his brothers, Obadiah & Thomas, 40s. each.
