John Williams

M, d. before 4 April 1705
     John was born in Great Neck in the Town of Hempostead, Queens County, Long Island, New York. John married Tamsen Carpenter, daughter of Joseph Carpenter and Hannah Carpenter, circa 1682 in Musketa Cove, Hempstead Town, Queens County, Long Island, New York. John was a cordwainer (shoemaker). On the 12th of May 1706, Tanzen purchased 300 acres of land in West Plains. John departed this life before 4 April 1705 in Great Neck in the Town of Hempostead, Queens County, Long Island, New York. It was noted in the records of the Surrogate's office in New York that "Tomasin Williams, widow of John Williams, cordwainner, of Madans Neck, is appointed administrator of his estate April 4, 1705, and an inventory filed on May I, 1705, shows personal estate to the amount of £393 4s. iod. The inventory was made by John Haviland, yeoman, and Theodouros Van Wyck, carpenter, and among the bills presented against the estate was: for going to York     £1. 1s. funeral expenses £1. 7s. 6d, Lawyer     £1, & Coroners Inquest £5.
