Genevieve's husband, Charles, died on 10 December 1669 in ville de Quebec leaving her a widow. She remarried on 23 October 1680 to Jean Baptiste Couillard Lepine. 1681, Genevieve was listed on the Canadian Census in Berthier-su-Mer, Berthier County, Quebec, Canada. Enumerated in this household were Jean Couillard [22 years], Genevieve Dechavigny [40 years], Joseph Amiot [16 years] & 3 domestics. Genevieve departed this life in ville de Quebec. She was buried there in the Basilica of Notre Dame on Friday, 21 April 1724.5
