Marie Josephte was born on Saturday, 28 October 1769 in Ile-DuPas, Quebec, Canada. She was christened on the same day there in the church of La Visitation.¹ Marie Josephte married Ambroise Martin dit Pelland, son of Francois Martin dit Pelland and Marie-Therese Laporte, on 27 November 1786 in Ile-DuPas at the church of La Visitation.² Marie's husband, Ambroise, died on 2 November 1818 in Ste-Elisabeth leaving her a widow. Marie departed this life on Sunday, 11 May 1856 in Ste-Elisabeth at age 86 years, 6 months and 13 days. She was buried there in the churchyard of Ste-Elizabeth on Monday, 12 May 1856.³
