Charles was born on Sunday, 27 May 1714 in Ile-DuPas, Quebec, Canada. He was christened there on 31 May 1714 in St-Pierre Church.2 A contract for the marriage of Charles and Marie Francoise-Charlotte Fafard dit Delorme was signed on 5 February 1739 in Quebec, Canada. The contract was signed by the notary Mr. LaFosse. Charles' parents were noted as Jacques Dandonneau, Captain of the Militia of Ile-Dupas & Catherine Dutau. Francoise's parents were not metioned.3 Charles's wife, Marie, died on 27 January 1750 in Ile-DuPas leaving him a widower. Charles married 2nd Therese Salvail on 28 April 1755 in Sorel at St-Pierre Church.4
