Charles was born on Sunday, 6 October 1771 in Ile-DuPas, Quebec, Canada. He was christened on the same day there in the church of La Visitation.1 Charles married Marie Monique Desorcy on 29 February 1808 in Ile-DuPas at the church of La Visitation.2 Charles & Marie-Monique had a daughter, Domithilde [1809-10/09/1899][m. 7/15/1825 Pierre Valois]. Charles's wife, Marie, died on 29 April 1843 in Ile-d'Orleans leaving him a widower. Charles departed this life on Friday, 10 April 1846 in Ile-DuPas at age 74 years, 6 months and 4 days. He was buried there in the churchyard of La Visitation on Monday, 13 April 1846.3
