Edward was born circa 1809. Edward married Amanda Townsend, daughter of Samuel Townsend and Asenath Badgley, on 3 May 1842 in Livingston County, Michigan.1,2 Edward & Amanda had children: Joseph, Daniel, Samuel [1854] William. An "Amanda Crafts d. age 9 mos. b. Mich of Jackson Co. unknown township month of enumeration Jan. 1850 of lung inflamation" - she is quite possibly their daughter. Samuel is living with his grandparents, Samuel & Asenath Townsend, by 1860 and with Lois Dunn by 1870. He was a doctor.3
