Mariah Crane

     Mariah was born in 1693 in Newark, Essex County, New Jersey. She was the daughter of Azariah Crane and Mary Treat. She often went by the name Mary. Mariah married John Baldwin, son of Jonathan Baldwin and Hannah Ward, in 1717 in Newark, Essex County, New Jersey. John and Mary had children: Ezekiel [12/19/17191/27/1805], Nathan [1721-6/18/1810] [m. Joanna Meeker], Enos [1723-12/21/1807], Martha Crane [1724-7/08/1754] [m. 1746 Jonathan Osborn], Phebe [m. Samuel Ogen], Mary [circa 1728] [m. Mr. Wade], Jemina [1730] [m. Col Samuel Potter].^1,2 Mariah departed this life on Sunday, 11 August 1754 in Orange, Essex County, New Jersey, at age 61 years. She was buried there in the Connecticut Farms Presbyterian Church Cemetery.¹
