Jean-Baptiste was born on Saturday, 10 July 1706 in ville de Quebec, Quebec, Canada. He was christened on the same day there in the Basilica of Notre Dame.¹ Jean-Baptiste married Angelique Cadieu dit Courville on 7 January 1727 in Montreal, Quebec, Canada, at the Basilica of Notre Dame.² Jean-Baptiste's wife, Angelique, died on 29 August 1748 in Sorel, St-Pierre-De Saurel, Quebec, Canada, leaving him a widower. Jean-Baptiste married 2nd Marie-Agathe Blet dit Gazaille, daughter of Pierre Blet dit Gazaille and Marie-Angelique Niquet, on 18 November 1748 in Sorel at St-Pierre Church.³ Jean-Baptiste departed this life in Lavaltrie, Vercheres County, Quebec, Canada. He was buried there in the churchyard of St-Antoine on Monday, 4 December 1775.⁴
