Jane Cornish

     Jane was born in Tiverton, Devonshire, England. She was christened there on 15 August 1612 in St. Peter's Church. She was baptised as "Jone."1 Jane married by license Edward Robins, son of Richard Robins and Dorothy Goodman, on 16 April 1630 in the parish Church, Fawsley, Northamptonshire, England.2,3,4 Jane's husband, Edward, died before 11 January 1640/41 in Accomac, Northampton County, Virginia, leaving her a widow.5,6 Jane married 2nd George Puddington in 1641 in Northampton County, Virginia. On 15 July 1647, Jane was asked by her ex-btother-in-law, Richard Robins, to be his attorney in retrieving monies due him from his brother, Edward's estate, Jane's late husband. Their brother, Obedience had received the accounts of the estate and had taken over much of it . Jane was to use any method necessary to collect including any court available.5 Jane's husband, George, died before 24 September 1674 in South River, leaving her a widow.
