Sarah was born before 30 March 1623 in Saffron Walden, County Essex, England. On 30 March 1623, she was christened in Saffron Walden, County Essex, England, at St. Mary the Virgin Church.1 Sarah married Thomas Willett on 1 September 1643 at the New Amsterdam Reformed Dutch Church in the City, County & State of New York.2,3 Sarah's husband, Thomas, died in 1646 in his home on Pearl Street, the City, County & State of New York, leaving her a widow. Sarah married 2nd Charles Bridges on 3 November 1647 at the New Amsterdam Reformed Dutch Church in the City, County & State of New York.4,5 Charles began the will below for himself and his wife, Sarah.
The will of Charles Bridges of Flushing and his wife Sarah Bridges, having in mind our great and decaying age, leave unto our son Thomas Willett half our land in Newton’s Neck as by deed of gift will appear, and the balance of our estate to the survivor of us. If I depart, first, _______pounds to my brother Thomas Bridges.
The will was never finished or signed possibly due to illness and/or an untimely death.6 Sarah's husband, Charles, died on 5 August 1682 in the Town of Flushing, Queens County, Long Island, New York, leaving her a widow. Sarah married by license on 20 November 1682.7 Sarah departed this life between 1692 and 1698 in New York.8 Her will was probated on 6 December 1703. Her son, Thomas, was appointed administrator of her estate.9
