     Christian was born on Saturday, 15 May 1745 in Franconia Township, Montgomery County, Pennsylvania. Christian married Barbara (?).1 Christian and Barbara had children: Henry, Nancy [1779-12/14/1857], John [12/03/1780-12/14/1861][m. Sarah Mundell], Christina [5/14/1784-5/02/1866][m. William Irwin], Susannah [4/25/1786-1825][m. Cephas Gregg], Sarah [9/20/1793-6/20/1824][m. Jonathan Morris], Christian [3/10/1795-1/23/1877][m. Nancy Templton].2 The 1800 U.S. Federal Census enumerates at Greene Township, Greene County, Pennsylvania, the family of Christian Clymer [10101:11201].3 Christian's wife, Barbara, died on 5 March 1801 in Garards Fort, Greene County, Pennsylvania, leaving him a widower. The 1810 U.S. Federal Census enumerates at Greene Township, Greene County, Pennsylvania, the family of Christ Clymer [00111:00200].4 Christian made his will on 13 September 1820.

In the name of God amen. I Christian Clymer of Greene Township in Greene County and state of Pennsylvania farmer, being in a weak and declining state of body but of sound and disposing mind and judgment and calling to mind the uncertainty of this present life have made and ordained this my Testament and last Will. First, I commend my soul to God who gave it; and my body to the earth to be buried with Christian burial at the discretion of my surviving family and executor hereinafter named. – My wordly substance with which I have been blessed I dispose of in the following manner, viz: It is my will that my lawful debts be paid out of my estate by my executor. To my three sons Henry, John and Christian [each of whom having heretofore received their portion of my estate] I bequeath the sum of fifteen dollars to each of them to be paid by my executor within three after my estate is sold as hereafter directed. I also will that all my estate real and personal be sold by my executor as soon as convenient after my decease and that in the sale of the land credit to be given, one fourth to be paid down, one fourth in two years and the remaining fourth in three years. And it is my will that the whole of the money arising from the sale of my estate real and personal after my lawful debts and legacies afore mentioned be divided between my four daughters to wit Nancy Clymer, Christina Irwin. Susannah Gregg and Sarah Morris in the following manner. Nancy Clymer to receive one hundred and fifty dollars out of the first money which shall come into my executor’s hands and all the remainder to be equally divided between my four daughters above named and I do hereby appoint Johnathan Morris who is my son in law to be the sole executor of this my last will and testament revoking and disannualling all other and declaring this to be my testament and last will. Witness my hand and seal this thirteenth day of September in the year of our Lord One thousand eight hundred and twenty. Witnessed by Robert Morrison and Andrew McCelland.5

Christian departed this life on Thursday, 26 October 1820 in Garards Fort at age 75 years, 5 months and 11 days. He was buried there in the Garards Fort Cemetery. His will was probated on 31 October 1820.
