     Richard de was born in 1130 in Tonbridge, County Kent, England. He was often referred to as Stongbow. Richard married Aoife MacMurrough on 29 August 1170 in Waterford, County Waterford, Munster, Ireland, at the Christchurch Cathredal. This marriage was arranged by Aoife's father as a offering of thanks to Richard for his military help.2 Richard died on Tuesday, 20 April 1176 in Dublin, County Dublin, Leinster, Ireland, from an infection in his foot, his death occurred just after a rebellion of Irsh peasants was halted. He was buried at Dublin, County Dublin, Leinster, Ireland, in the Christ Church Cathedral.
