Robert Chapman

     He immigrated in 1635 from England, arriving in August. By November, he had situated in Saybrook, Connecticut. Robert married Ann Bliss, daughter of Thomas Bliss and Margaret Snowe, on 29 April 1642 in Saybrook, Middlesex County, Connecticut.1 Robert & Anne had children: John [7/01/1644-12/__1711] [m. 7/06/1670 Elizabeth Hawley 2nd. 3/26/1677 Elizabeth Beamon & 3rd. 8/10/1686 Lydia Gilbert], Robert [9/16/164611/10/1711] [m. 6/27/1671 Sarah Griswold & 2nd. 10/29/1694 Mary Durant], Anne [9/12/1648-1649], Hannah [10/04/1650-1719] [m.123/27/1677 David Bull], Nathaniel [2/16/1653-4/05/1726] [m. 6/29/1681 Mary Collins & 2nd. 7/26/1698 Hannah Bates], Mary [4/15/1655-4/03/1726] [m. 5/02/1676 Samuel Bates] & Sarah [9/25/1657] [m. 1686 Joseph Pratt]. Robert's wife, Ann, died on 29 November 1685 in Saybrook Fort, Middlesex County, Connecticut, leaving him a widower.2 Robert departed this life on Monday, 13 October 1687 in Saybrook Fort, Middlesex County, Connecticut.3
