Harriett Carpenter

     Harriett was born on Friday, 18 September 1795 in Orange County, New York. She was the daughter of Jesse Carpenter and Mary Mapes. Harriett married Moses Mapes, son of Enos Mapes and Irena Vail, on 14 October 1818 in Orange County, New York. Moses & Harriett had children: Mary [7/13/1819], Elvira [7/02/1821-10/19/1828], Robert Fulton [2/13/1824-6/29/1844], Benjamin Franklin [10/01/1825]. Harriett departed this life on Saturday, 23 August 1828 in Middletown, Orange County, New York, at age 32 years, 11 months and 5 days. She was buried there in the Hillside Cemetery.
