Enumerated in this household were |William Bowerman [Apr 1850 - 50 Ohio], his wife: Alice [Dec 1856 - 43 Ohio], children: Effie [May 1876 - 23 Michigan], & Charlie [June 1885 - 14 Indiana]. They were married 26 years with three children, all living. He was a section railroad hand.² William's wife, Alice, died after 6 June 1900 in Etna Township leaving him a widower. William married 2nd Mary Hernstreet on 21 December 1916 in Waterloo, Dekalb County, Indiana.³ William departed this life on Thursday, 17 September 1931 in Etna Township at age 81 years, 5 months and 15 days. He was buried there in Etna Township in Wooden Cemetery. His tombstone reads: William Bowerman - Apr. 2, 1850 - Sept. 7, 1931 - Alice C. - Dec. 11, 1850 - dec. 9 1915.⁴
