Thomas Bird Jr.

     Thomas was born circa 1641. He was the son of Thomas Bird. He was probably born at Dorchester. Thomas married Thankful Atherton, daughter of Major General Humphrey Atherton and Mary Kennion, on 6 December 1665 in Dorchester. Thomas & Thankful had children: Joseph, Thankful, Sarah, Anne, Thomas, Mary, Submit, Mercy, Patience, Patience & Benjamin. Thomas departed this life on Thursday, 30 January 1710 in Dorchester. He was buried there in the Dorchester North Burying Ground. The epitath on his stone reads" "Here lyes ye body of Thomas Bird, aged about 69 years died January ye 30 1709-10".
