Obituary: Ora Beery, son of Abraham and Mary Beery, was born in McCutchenville, May 10, 1874, and died July 1, 1904, aged 30 years, two months and 23 days. Ora was the oldest of a family of four. Roy, of Upper Sandusky, and Rolla, who, with their father, of this place, survive him. The mother and daughter having passed to that land of beauty, the heritage of those who love the Lord. The honest, quiet, christian life of Ora should act as an inspiration to all. Although afflicted from early childhood, he took up his share of the burden of life uncomplainingly and like the woman of old, "done what he could," often speaking words of cheer and comfort to those less favored than himself, never letting an opportunity pass to speak a word for the Master. He was a member of the Methodist Episcopal church and also of the Epworth League society, which he loved very much, and was always anxious to participate therein. For a number of years he has conveyed the Toledo News-Bee to its patrons, always acting in perfect honesty with all. He will be missed by his many friends, who will always remember the untarnished character of Ora, who has now gone home, where there are no pains, where the lame do walk in the sweet presence of Jesus forevermore. "Come unto Me, all ye that are weary and I will give you rest for My yoke is easy and My burden is light."
The funeral occurred July 4, at the Methodist Episcopal church. Rev. Motter conducting the service. Below are the names of the donors of the flowers: Spray of white carnations, Roy Beery, of Upper Sandusky; pink carnations and white lillies Methodist Episcopal Sunday school; spray of dark red roses, Mrs. Heyden Miller; bouquet of tea roses, Mrs. Brown; wreath, Sunday School class; spray of roses and ferns, Misses Myrtle Bruble, May Cypher and Fern Hartman; wreath, Mrs. Aaron Reid.
