Thomas was born in Largo, Fifeshire, Scotland. Thomas made his will on 1 September 1707.
In the name of God Amen I Thomas Bell of Prince Georges County in the Province of Maryland Carpenter, being in perfect health in body & of Sound & Perfect memory doe make This my Last will & Testament in manner following –
That whereas it doeth Please God by his Providence to cause me to Leave the place of my Nativity Interceding God Willing for England of the Almighty Spares Life – if not then first of all I Surrender my Soule into the hands of my Creator and my body to be Buried in Such Decent and Christian Manner as I shall then & there Order and Appoynt –
Item I give after my Decease to my Beloved Brother John Bell all my Working tooles whatsoever –
Item I give & bequeath unto my beloved brother George my negro boy Called James To him and his heirs forever after my Decease And of this my Last Will and Testament Doe nominate and Apoynt my Loving Brother Ninian Bealle to be my one and Sole Executor after the above legacies being paid and I doe revoke and Disanull all former wills and bequeaths by me formerly made & by these presente doe Ratifye and Confirme this to be my Last will and Testament dated this first day of September annoque Domini one thousand Seaven hundred and seaven.
