Warin de was born circa 1221 in Bassingbourne, Cambridgeshire, England. He was made a ward of William Earl Mareschal on 3 September 1229, after the death of his father, and on 24 April 1235, he became the ward of his future father-in-law, Emery de Sacy.3 Warin married Isabel de Sacy circa 1253. He fought in Gascony in 1253, and did homage for his wife's lands on 24 July 1253. He then fought for his king in Wales in 1257, and proved to be a staunch supporter of King Henry III, in his struggles with the barons. During this time Warin attempted to rescue Prince Edward and the Earl of Cromwell from Wallingford Castle. On 16 March 1264, he was granted the wardship and marriage of the heir of William Mauduit of Warminster. Later, towards the end of his life, he was granted the positions of Steward of the Forests of Northamptonshire, Oxfordshire, co. Bucks, and Huntingdonshire. He was also made constable of Northampton and Rockingham Castles. Warin departed this life before 13 May 1269 in Bassingbourne, Cambridgeshire, England. On that date, he seised of land in Bassingbourne, Cambridgeshire.4
