     Edward was born circa 1560 in Roughham, County Norfolk, England. He received his B.A. from Peterhouse, Cambridge in 1579. Sometime in the mid 1580's, he was first married, but lost his wife shorly after. Then in 1588, when his sister, Jane lost her husband, he offered her a home.2 Edward married Lady Nazareth Bedingfeld, daughter of Edmund Bedingfeld and Anne Southwell, before 12 January 1593 in County Norfolk, England. Edward also owned lands at Grimston in 1591 or 1592. [33 Elizabeth I]. He and his wife, Nazareth were on numerous lists as recusants. His nephew Charles wrote that "Edward moved often and had residences in Appleton, Grimston, Wolverton and others. He was his father’s executor and inherited 5000 acres at Grimston and other places in Norfolk. He was a conspicuous Catholic and recusant throughout Elizabeth’s reign. He married Nazareth, daughter of Edmund Bedingfeld."3 Edward made his will on 7 May 1623.

I, Edward Yelverton, of Appleton, co. Norff., gent; - My body to be buried in the church of Sandringham, between the Font and Steeple, where my virtuous and loving wife was buried. Mr. William Paston and Mr. John Paston, two of the sons of Edward Paston, of Appleton aforesaid, esquire, executors of this my last will; - Item, whereas I reserved out of the sale of my lands to Mr. Bladwell, certain parcels of lands containing about seven acres in Grimston, etc., the same to be sold; - To my son Edward Yelverton, my gold ring which was my father’s, and my seale of arms – Richard Yaxlee a witness.4

Edward departed this life in Appleton. He was buried at Sandringham in the church between the font and the steeple near his wife. His will was probated on 22 October 1623.
