Isaac Woodruff

     Isaac and Sarah had children: Isaac [1744-7/02/1804], Nehemiah [6/20/1748-1/17/1821] and probably others. Isaac was born on Friday, 14 August 1722 in Elizabeth Town, Essex County, New Jersey. Isaac married Sarah Meeker, daughter of Benjamin Meeker and Phebe Clark, circa 1743 in Elizabeth Town. Isaac's wife, Sarah, died on 5 September 1799 in Elizabeth Town leaving him a widower. Isaac departed this life on Monday, 17 October 1803 in Elizabeth Town at age 81 years, 2 months and 3 days. He was buried there in the churchyard of the first Presbyterian Church. The inscription on his tombstone reads: Sacred to the memory of Isaac Woodruff Esq. who deceased Oct the 17th 1808 in the 82nd. year of his age.¹
