     Nicholas was born circa 1540 in County Norfolk, England. Nicholas married Ellen Gylbert, daughter of William Gylbert and Ellen Furford, on 18 February 1559 in Barton Turf, County Norfolk, England, at St. Michael's Church. Nicholas's wife, Ellen, died on 10 January 1582 in Barton Turf, County Norfolk, England, leaving him a widower. Nicholas married 2nd Margery Alysander on 25 January 1589/90 in Barton Turf, County Norfolk, England, at St. Michael's Church. Margery was the relict of John Raspoole, who has married her on 4 July 1560 and died 18 July 1588. After this, there is no further mention of Nicholas in the parish records. Nicholas departed this life at England.

[S106] Howland Delano Perrine, The Wright Family of Oysterbay, L.I. with the ancestry of and descent from Peter Wright and Nicholas Wright, 1423-1923, page 25 - In the Parish Register of St. Mcharl's Church, at Barton Turf, county Norfolk, among the earliest records of marriages, it states that on February 18, 1559, Nicholas Wright and Ellen Gylbert were married, and that Ellen died January 10, 1582. The Register shows that Nicholas Wright subsequently, on January 25, 1589, married Margerie Alysander, relict of John Raspoole, who married Margarie, July 4, 1560, and died July 18,1588. The Register of this church shows the names of two cbildre of Nicholas and Ellen Wright, Nicholas and 'William, but none of the second marriage. Ellen Gylbert, or Gilbert was a daughter of William Gylbert, Vicar of Barton Turf, 1517-1531. (Norfolk Parish Registers. W. P. W. Phillimore. 1909. Vol. 4, pp. 2-3).
