Susannah Winbegler1

     Susannah was born on Sunday, 26 July 1801 in Frederick County, Maryland. She was the daughter of Franz Heinrich & Sarah [Ridgely] Winbigler. Sarah was the daughter of Westall & Urith Ridgely. She was often referred to as Susan. Susannah married Westall Ridgely, son of Jacob Ridgely and Ruth Thrasher, circa 1832 in Ohio. Susannah's husband, Westall, died on 8 October 1845 in Marcellus Township leaving her a widow. 28 September 1850, Susannah was listed on the U.S. Federal Census at Marcellus Township, Cass County, Michigan. Enumerated in this household were Franklin Thurston [25 New York], his wife: Asena [23 New York], son, Henry F. [7/12 Michigan], Susan Ridgley [47 Maryland], Martha J. Ridgley [17 Ohio], Caroline Ridgley [11 Ohio], & Jacob W. Ridgley [9 Ohio], Eli C. [6 Ohio]. Franklin was a lawyer.2 Susannah married 2nd Samuel Bridge on 12 December 1853 in Marcellus Township. 17 July 1860, Susannah and her husband Samuel were listed on the U.S. Federal Census in Marcellus Township. Enumerated in this household were Samuel Bridge [63 New York], his wife: Susan [59 Maryland], children: Eli [17 Ohio] & Jacob [19 Ohio].3 Susannah departed this life on Tuesday, 12 December 1871 in Marcellus Township at age 70 years, 4 months and 16 days.4 She was buried there in Bly Cemetery.
