The 8th day of the 11th month 1673, Rachael was christened in a Quaker Settlement, London, County Middlesex, England.2 An unknown person married, son of Captain John Seaman and Martha Moore, the 9th day of the 8th month 1695 in the home of Rachael's parents, Henry & Mary Willis, Westbury, Hempstead Town, Queens County, Long Island, New York.3 She and Nathaniel were blessed with 9 children. 31 August 1698, Nathaniel and Rachael and her husband, [ROF:Hempstead Town] were listed on the Hempstead Town Census. Enumerated in this household were Martha Seaman [mother], Nathaniel Seaman, Rachael, Rachael Jr., Martha Carman, [probably daughter of Nathaniel's sister, Hannah]. Rachael departed this life the 28th day of the 8th month 1739 in Westbury, Hempstead Town, Queens County, Long Island, New York.4

Willis, The English Origins of Henry Willis of Westbury, Long Island, pages 70-71 - ...However, the Society of Friends London and Middlesex Quarterly Meeting Minutes (1650-1700) contain the following record: "1673 XI 8 Rachel Willis, parents Henery and Mary of Black Lane, Stepney - carpenter, Ratcliff & Barking Monthly Meeting" This clearly establishes the family as residing in the Quaker center of Spitalfields, less than a mile from the Tower of London.
