Robert was born circa 1577 in Dundridge Manor in the Parish of Aston Clinton, Buckinghamshire, England. He inherited from his father messuages, lands, renements, rents, reversions and hereditements, with all and singular their and everie of their appurtenances being in Flaunden & Hempstead or elsewhere within the Hertfordshire. Robert married Jane Robinson circa 1602 in Herefordshire, England. Robert and Jane had a child, Anna [3/00/1605-2/20/1661] [m. 1631 Alexander Bryan]. Alexander and Anna immigrated to the colonies with Anna Cousin Sylvester Baldwin. Robert made his will on 22 March 1605.

To the poor of Barkhampsteade, xs. To the poore of Cholsburie, xs. To the poore of St Leonards, xs. To Bartholomewe Gravener, iis. To my aunt Lettice Foster, of Trynge, xs. To my brother-in-lawe William Robinson of Henley xxs. To my sister Buck, of Henley, xxs. To her sonne Izaac Bucks, iiis iiiid. To every brother and sister childe I have iiis iiiid. To my servante Agnes Thornton, iiis. Residuary legatees: my wife Jane and my daughter Anne. If so it be that my wife be with childe of a man childe I bequeath my land to him at the age of one and twentie years and to his heires for ever. And if it prove to be a Women childe, then the land the other daghter’s porcon to be equallie devided between them at the age of eighteen yeares. Sole Executor, my brother, Richard Balldwine. Overseer: my brother Salter.

Robert departed this life in North Church. He was buried there in Churchyard of North Church on Saturday, 1 April 1606.
