     John was born circa 1707 in Providence, Providence County, Rhode Island. John married Hope Orr on 19 July 1730 in Providence, Providence County, Rhode Island.2 John & Hope had children: Isaac [5/08/1731-12/26/1803][m. 1/28/1760 Lydia Barnes], Jacob [6/12/1732-5/17/1808][m. 6/26/1762 Ruth Blackmore & 2nd 1774 Martha Phillips], John [9/15/1733-3/10/1778][m. 2/24/1765 Martha Smith], Rebecca [6/12/1735-circa 1807][single], Phebe [9/15/1736][m. 10/08/1760 Andrew Phillips], Mary [5/09/1740][m. 10/08/1769 Ezekiel Blackmore] & Joshua [7/05/1746-7/08/1805][m. 9/15/1791 Eunice Callum].3 He signed a petition to the Rhode Island Legislature in June 1728. By 1733, there is a deed in Glocester where John was given land by his father.4,5 John made his will on 31 January 1753 at Glocester, Smithfield Township, Providence County, Rhode Island.6 John departed this life in Glocester, Smithfield Township. His will was probated on 17 November 1770.
