     Lettice was born after 1534 in Dundridge Manor in the Parish of Aston Clinton, Buckinghamshire, England. She was not 19 years of age at the time of the writing of her father's will on the 16th of January 1553. Lettice married John Foster in May 1572 in Tring, Hertfordshire, England, at St. Peter and St. Paul.1 In the will of her nephew, Robert, son of Henry Baldwin, she is mentioned as living in Tring, Hertsfordshire.2 Lettice departed this life in April 1620 in Tring.3 She was buried there in The yard of St. Peter & St Paul Church.4

[S119] Herbert Furman Seversmith, Colonial Families of Long Island, New York & Connecticut, page 248 - ...probably to be identified as the "Ethel" Baldyn who married in the parish church at Tring. The word "Ethel" (this name is an anachronism in that era) has a question mark after it in the abstracts made from Tring registers, which shows that the transcriber could not read the Christian name except with difficulty. [note - anachronism is saying that Ethel was not a name used in that time period. KLM]
