     Philip was born circa 1615 in Combe St. Nicholas, Somersetshire, England. Philip married Mary Smith on 1 October 1647 in Roxbury, Suffolk County, Massachusetts. She was the widow of John Scarborough.2,3 Phillip & his wife had children: Joseph [7/02/1649-8/06/1649], Jonathan [1651], Marie [1654] & Elisha.4 He settled in Roxbury, and by 1643 was a member of The Military Company of Massachusetts which would later be known as the Ancient and Honorable Artillary Company. Philip departed this life on Sunday, 12 May 1686 in Roxbury, Suffolk County, Massachusetts.2 He was buried there on Thursday, 16 May 1686.
