Amelia was born on Sunday, 11 March 1849 in Baltimore, Baltimore County, Maryland.1 Amelia married Michael A. Peterman, son of Michael Peterman and Sarah Ridgely, on 10 April 1872 in Bucyrus, Crawford County, Ohio.2 Amelia died on Tuesday, 12 December 1876 in Liberty Township, Crawford County, Ohio, at her home at age 27 years, 9 months and 1 day
Obituary - Amelia Peterman died at the residence of her husband, Michael Peterman. six miles east of Bucyrus, of protracted illness, on Tuesday, December 12, 1876, at 6 o'cock am., aged 27 years, 9 months and 1 day. She was born in the city of Baltimore, Maryland, March 11, 1849, and afterward removed with her parents, Lewis and Fredrica Stremmel, to Bucyrus, Ohio. She was married to Michael Peterman, April 10, 1872. She leaves a husband and three children, one son and two daughters, as well as her aged parents and two brothers to morn her loss. A member of the German Reformed Church, she lived the life of the Christian and died in triumphal hope of heaven and eternal glory. The funeral sermons were preached in German and English by Revs. Zimmerman of Galion and Slade of Bucyrus, at her late residence on Thursday, and her mortal remains were laid to rest in Oakwood Cemetery. The funeral was attended by a large concourse of friends and relatives, as well as the Knights of Honor, of which her husband is a member. [Crawford County Forum 12/15/1876]3
