David Stalter

     David was born in 1813 in Fairfield County, Ohio. He was the son of Christian & Mary Stalter. David married Nancy Beery, daughter of Jacob Beery and Nancy Geil, on 23 October 1833 in Lancaster, Fairfield County, Ohio. David & Nancy had children: Jacob Christian [10/25/1834-8/31/1877][m. Salomie Pennington. Mary Jane [10/23/1836-], Leahe [5/08/1841], James Henry [5/24/1843-11/__/1884][m. Sarah E. Brady], David Jones [8/14/1845], Nancy Laura [10/07/1847] & Elisabeth T. [10/06/1849]. 2 November 1850, David and his wife, Nancy, were listed on the U.S. Federal Census in Eden Township. Enumerated in this household were David Stalter [37 Ohio farmer], his wife: Nancy [42 Ohio], children: Jacob [16 Ohio], Mary J. [14 Ohio], Lellin [female][9 Ohio], Jane [7 Ohio], David [5 Ohio], Laura [3 Ohio]. & Elizabeth [1 Ohio].¹ David's wife, Nancy, died on 21 October 1859 in Eden Township leaving him a widower. David departed this life on Tuesday, 8 March 1892 in West Independence, Hancock County, Ohio, at age 79 years. He was buried there.
