Michael Spencer

     Michael was born in Stotfold, Bedfordshire, England. He was christened there on 5 May 1611 in the church of St. Mary's. Michael married Isabel (?) circa 1637. Michael & Isabel had children: John [ca. 1638-1684][m. Susannah], Susanna [ca. 1643][m. 8/04/1664 Daniel Bacon], Michael [1648-3/16/1723][m. ca. 1672 Rebecca Sweetman]. Michael inherited fifty pounds from his Uncle Richard, on 17 March 1645. Michael departed this life in Lynn, Essex County, Massachusetts. Letters of Administration of his estate were granted on 29 November 1653 to his brother Gerrad Spencer.. The inventory of Michael's estate was taken on Friday, 6 March 1654 by his brother Gerrard. It was valued at £22 4s. 10d. His will was probated on 30 November 1654. Thomas Robbins had some of the estate of Michael Spencer in his possession. On this date he presented a bill of 53s. 6d., 2 cows with rent of same for one year & a rug of 18s. The court granted the bill with the consent of Gerrad Spencer as Robbins had a child, Michael of the deceased to raise.
