Dorcas Sparrow

     Dorcas was born on Sunday, 4 October 1722 in Eastham, Barnstable County, Massachusetts. Dorcas married Thomas Nickerson II, son of Thomas Nickerson and Lydia Covell, on 6 May 1742 in Eastham, Barnstable County, Massachusetts. Thomas and Dorcas had children: Sparrow [2/23/1742-11/__/1772] [m. 2/11/1762 Abigail Burgess], Thomas [3/19/1744-2/11/1772] [m. 10/27/1765 Ruth Hinckley], Phebe [10/09/1746] [m. 10/28/1765 Elisha Newcomb & 2nd. 11/11/1773 Constant Nickserson], Hugh [12/18/1748-1789] [m. 11/11/1779 Deborah Hinckley], Dorcas [1750] [m. 4/02/1768 Thomas Lewis Jr.], Rachel [12/16/1752 6/18/1805] [m. 7/09/1772 David Godfrey], Sarah [1755] [m. 1/18/1776 Stephen Kendrick] & Sabra [3/101765-1/10/1841] m. 6/20/1780 Salathiel Nickereson. The two brothers, Sparrow and Thomas, were murdered while at sea. The suspect was their cousin, Ansel, but there was never a conviction.¹ Dorcas and Thomas departed this life before 27 February 1798 in Chatham.
