John Finton Smith

     John Finton was born on Friday, 21 February 1800 in New York. He was the son of Jonas Smith and Huldah Finton. John married Leona Mapes, daughter of Enos Mapes and Irena Vail, on 1 January 1828 in Orange County, New York. John departed this life on Wednesday, 27 June 1860 in the Town of Wallkill, Orange County, New York. He was buried at Howells, Orange County, New York, in the Howells Cemetery. 16 August 1860, John and his wife, Leona, were listed on the U.S. Federal Census in the Town of Wallkill, Orange County, New York.
