Therese Ayotte

     Therese was born on Tuesday, 18 April 1747 in Neuville, Portneuf County, Quebec, Canada. She was christened on the same day there in St-Francois-de-Sales Church.¹ A contract for the marriage of Therese & Pierre Amiot dit Villeneuve was signed on 21 August 1770. Notary Rigaud drew up the contract. It states that he is 24 years of age and the son of Pierre Amiot dit Villeneuve and Felicite Voyer. She is 21 years of age and the daughter of Ignace Alliot and Francoise Lecuyer..² Pierre & Therese had children: Pierre [6/23/1771-9/28/1805], Marie-Therese [1/28/1772-5/20/1794], Paul [9/27/1774][m. 11/23/1801 Victoire Cotnoir dit Preville], Marie Josephe [1777-11/05/1810][m. 1/25/1802 Emmanuel Cottenoir dit Preville], Genevieve [5/27/1779], Marie-Marguerite [5/09/1781-4/25/1833][m. 1/25/1802 Joseph Cottenoir dit Preville], Marie-Louise [10/23/1783-10/16/1825][m. 1/07/1805 Pierre Cornelier dit Grandchamp] & Marie Francoise [2/27/1790-7/21/1790].³ Therese departed this life on Friday, 22 September 1820 in Maskinonge, Quebec, Canada, at age 73 years, 5 months and 4 days. She was buried there in the churchyard of St-Joseph on Saturday, 23 September 1820.⁴
