Jonathan Sackett

     Jonathan was born on Sunday, 6 June 1655 in New Haven, New Haven County, Connecticut. He was the son of John Sackett and Agnes Tinkham. He was first married to Hannah Tinkham circa 1674 in New Haven. Jonathan married Ruth Hotchkiss, daughter of John Hotchkiss and Elizabeth Peck, on 12 March 1718 in New Haven. Jonathan and Ruth had a daughter, Sarah [8/09/1721-12/905/1800] [m. Elisha Booth]. Jonathan departed this life on Monday, 4 February 1726 in New Haven at age 70 years, 7 months and 29 days. He was buried at New Haven, New Haven County, Connecticut, in the Grove Street Cemetery. The inscription on his tombstone reads: Here Lyeth ye body of Jonathan Sakit who died Feb. 4, 1726 Aged 72 years.
