     Jeanne was born on Thursday, 9 October 1681 in L'Islet, L'Islet County, Quebec, Canada. She was christened there on 11 October 1681 in the church of Notre-Dame-de-Bonsecours.1 A contract for the marriage of Jean Carrier & Jeanne Samson was signed on 15 April 1705 at Pointe-de-Levy, Lauzon, Levis County, Quebec, Canada. It was drawn up by notary, Chambalon. It notes her parents as the late Jacques Samson & Marie-Anne Metou. It notes his parents as Jean Carie & the late Barbe Halle and he resides at Cote-de-Lauzon.2 Jean & Jeanne had children: Jean [1706-8/21/1754][m. 10/30/1727 Marie Louise Morin dit Beausejour], Charles [6/05/1708-6/11/1708], Marie-Jeanne-Anne [7/01/1709-3/15/1760][m. 6/10/1727 Jean-Baptiste Charest], Charles [8/11/1711-10/28/1712], Jacques-Charles [11/08/1713][m. 4/10/1736 Marie-Catherine Huard dit Desilets], Joseph [9/29/1718-11/21/1788][m. 5/10/1745 Marie-Madeleine Laroche], Louis [9/10/1720-2/20/1745] & Marie-Genebieve [1/09/1723-2/11/1798][m. 11/08/1751 Michl Chamard].3 Jeanne's husband, Jean, died on 14 December 1749 in Pointe-de-Levy, Lauzon leaving her a widow. Jeanne departed this life on Sunday, 22 October 1758 in Pointe-de-Levy, Lauzon at age 77 years and 13 days. She was buried there in the cemetery of St-Joseph on Monday, 23 October 1758.4
