     John the elder was born circa 1555 in King's Stanley, Gloucestershire, England. John and Margaret had children: Mary [8/11/1582], Alice [3/11/1585], Catherine [3/09/1587/88] & Elizabeth [12/28/1591]. [baptismal dates]1 John made his will on 3 May 1605 at King's Stanley, Gloucestershire, England. He describes himself as a husbandman of King's Stanley. He mentions his brother Ambrose, his wife Margaret, his two oldest daughters, Mary and Alice; his other daughters Katherine and Elizabeth, his brother John and his sons, John and Thomas. He names Thomas Clutterbooke and Thomas Rogers as overseers.2 John departed this life in King's Stanley. He was buried there in the churchyard of St. George.3
