Jean-Baptiste Rivard dit Lacoursier

     He was christened on the same day there in St-Antoine-de-Padau, Riviere-du-Loup Church.1 Jean-Baptiste was born on Saturday, 11 July 1801 in Louiseville, Quebec, Canada. He was the son of Amable Rivard dit Lacoursiere and Euphrosine Dejarlais dit St Amand. On 22 November 1824, Jean Baptiste married Madeleine Billy dit St Louis at Louisville.2 Jean-Baptiste married 2nd Adelaide Sylvestre, daughter of Paul Cuthbert Sylvestre and Pélagie Ayotte, on 24 July 1839 in Upton, Yamaska County, Quebec, Canada, at St-Guillaume Church.3 Jean Baptiste and Adelaide had children: Philomene [8/07/1840][m. 4/23/1866 Hermenegilde Mercier], Marie Henriette [4/13/1842][m. 3/03/1862 Jean Baptiste Cardin], Emilie [3/13/1844][m. 11/11/1862 Julien Cardin], Victor Augustin [3/25/18462/02/1847], Marie Aurise [12/13/1847], Simon [10/17/1849-1/31/1850], Sophie [3/01/1851-5/061855] & Sina [3/04/1853-7/08/1853]. Jean-Baptiste's wife, Adelaide, died on 25 March 1853 in Upton, Yamaska County, Quebec, Canada, leaving him a widower. Jean-Baptiste departed this life before 3 March 1862. He was noted as deceased on the marriage record of his daughter, Henriette, on this date.
