Madeleine was born circa 1641 in Troyes, Aube, Champagne, France, at the parish of St-Niziers. A contract for the marriage of Madeleine & Jean Gailloux was signed on 4 November 1671 in Cap-de-la-Madeleine, Quebec, Canada. The notary, Jean Cusson wrote the contract of marriage stating that Jean was the son of Nicolas Gaillou and ______Geder. Also, that Marie Madeleine was the daughter of Francois Prunier and Catherine Poulet..1 1681, Madeleine and her husband, Jean, were listed on the Canadian Census in Champlain, Les Chenaux County, Quebec, Canada. Enumerated in this household were Jean Gaillou [37 years], Marie Prunier [40 years], Nicolas [8 years], Marie [6 years] & Jeanne Judith [3 years].2 Madeleine departed this life on Sunday, 10 April 1689 in Champlain. She was buried there in the church of La Visitation on Wednesday, 13 April 1689.3
