Marie-Louise Provost

     Marie-Louise was born on Friday, 13 September 1726 in St-Sulpice, Quebec, Canada. She was the daughter of Joseph Proveault & Marie Louise Gauthier dit Landreville. She was christened there on 15 September 1726 in St-Sulpice Church.¹ Marie-Louise married Jean-Baptiste Laporte, son of Jean-Baptiste Laporte dit St-Georges and Marie-Angelique Lescarbot dit Bosseron, on 26 January 1750 in Lavaltrie, Vercheres County, Quebec, Canada, at St-Antoine Church.² Jean Baptiste and Marie Louise had children: Marie Genevieve [9/081753-1/03/1754], Louis [11/16/1754-4/10/1808][m. 1/24/1780 Marie Ursele Justine Fournier], Maire Louise [5/13/1756][m. 1/10/1780 Joseph Latour dit Faforge], Marie Genevieve [8/21/1759-9/20/1759], Jean Baptiste [9/29/1760-2/05/1780], Cecile [1761-11/20/1781], Joseph [9/15/1762][m. 1/25/1790 Marie Angelique Fontaine dit Marion], Marie Amable [4/19/1764], Pierre [5/28/1766][m. 2/24/1794 Agatha Houde], Francois Amable [4/24/1768-1/11/1769] & Charles 12/29/1769-6/27/1770].³ Marie-Louise's husband, Jean-Baptiste, died on 26 July 1779 in Berthierville, Berthier County, Quebec, Canada, leaving her a widow. Marie-Louise departed this life on Tuesday, 12 May 1812 in Berthierville at age 85 years, 7 months and 29 days. She was buried there in the churchyard of Ste-Genevieve on Wednesday, 13 May 1812.⁴
