Jean-Baptiste was born circa 1700 in Contrecoeur, Vercheres County, Quebec, Canada.¹ Jean-Baptiste married Marie-Angelique Lescarbot dit Bosseron, daughter of Jean Lescarbot dit Bosseron and Marie-Anne Baudouin, on 9 April 1720 in St-Sulpice, Quebec, Canada, at St-Sulpice Church.² Jean-Baptiste married 2nd Marie-Charlotte Guertin on 25 February 1743 in St-Sulpice at St-Sulpice Church.³ Jean-Baptiste and Marie-Charlotte had children: Marie-Charlotte [2/17/1744][m. 11/16/1761 Pierre Leclerc], Marie-Josephte [9/22/1747][m. 7/15/1765 Michel Picard & 2nd 2/04/1771 Joseph Leclerc], Genevieve-Louise [9/08/1749-3/07/1821][m. 8/16/1768 Michel Champoux] & Antoine [6/11/1753][m. 4/19/1773 Marie-Charlotte Chevigne].⁴ Jean-Baptiste's wife, Marie-Charlotte, died on 9 September 1773 in L'Assomption, L'Assomption County, Quebec, Canada, leaving him a widower. Jean-Baptiste departed this life on Friday, 6 May 1774 in L'Assomption. He was buried there in the churchyard of St-Pierre-du-Portage on Sunday, 8 May 1774.⁵
