Sidney was 30 and Cora was 27 when they first married.⁵ 1 May 1940, Cora and her husband, Sidney, were listed on the U.S. Federal Census in Liberty Township. Enumerated in this household were Sidney McCurdy [69 Ohio], his wife: Cora E. [65 Ohio], J. Russell [25 Ohio]. Sidney & Cora went thru 8th grade and Russell thru high school. He is a farmer. His home was valued at $3,000.⁶ Cora's husband, Sidney, died on 23 March 1944 in Bucyrus at the Bucyrus City Hospital leaving her a widow.⁷ 14 April 1950, the U.S. Federal Census listed Cora living in the home of her son at Liberty Township, Crawford County, Ohio. Enumerated in this household were Russell McCurdy [35 Ohio], Winnifred [29 Ohio], John C. [3 Ohio] & mother: Cora [75 Ohio]. Russell is a farmer and worked 70 hours the previous week, Winnifred worked 14 hours as a farm helper.⁸ Cora departed this life on Tuesday, 4 December 1956 in Liberty Township at age 82 years and 23 days.
