Abigail Peck

     Abigail was born on Monday, 13 May 1776 in Farmington, Oakland County, Michigan. She was the daughter of Abel & Abigail [Gaylord] Peck. Timothy and Abigail had 7 children: Lowrey [6/__/1797-9/24/1890], Henry [1807-1865], William [1803-1/19/1878] [m. Priscilla Thomkins], George [1809-6/11/1861] & Mary Ann [1817-11/14/1844] and others. Abigail married Timothy Stedman, son of John Stedman I and Mary Frances Hotchkiss, on 19 September 1796 in Newington, Hartford County, Connecticut, at the Congregational Church. 16 August 1850, Abigail and her husband, Timothy, were listed on the U.S. Federal Census in Warsaw, Wyoming County, New York. Enumerated in this household were Timothy Stedman [77 Connecticut], Abigail [74 Connecticut] & Abigail [19 New York].1 21 August 1860, Abigail and her husband Timothy were listed on the U.S. Federal Census in Warsaw, Wyoming County, New York. Enumerated in this household were T Steadman [87 Connecticut] & Abigal [84 Connecticut]. He is a blacksmith.2 Abigail's husband, Timothy, died in June 1862 in Rochester, Monroe County, New York, leaving her a widow. Abigail departed this life in August 1863 in Rochester, Monroe County, New York, at age 87 years and 2 months.3 She was buried there in Mount Hope Cemetery.
