Francis married Mary Awood, daughter of John Awood and Alis (?), on 23 May 1585 in King's Stanley, Gloucestershire, England, at St. George Church.1 Francis and Mary had children: Elizabeth [10/28/1585], Johan [6/04 1587-7/06/1587], Johan [1/24/1589/90], Margery [1/31/159/91], Bridget [1/31/1590/91] & Richard [10/15/1592].2 Francis's wife, Mary, died before 15 October 1592 in King's Stanley, leaving him a widower. He married second, Margery, a widow Awood. Francis made his will on 21 July 1608.
Frauncis Payne, butcher, of Minchinhampton made his will 21 July 1608. He named his wife Margerie, and to her "all those moveable and unmoveable goodes" which were hers before their marriage, five children Elizabeth, Katherine, Bridgitt, Margerie, and Richard (all Payne), as well as Joane Wood, Francys Wood, and Thomas Wood, his daughters and son in law, and his godson Francys Skicton(?).3
He was buried there on Saturday, 26 July 1608.4 His will was probated on 16 May 1609.
