Nicholas Parcell1

M, b. circa 1613, d. before 21 May 1691
     Nicholas was born circa 1613. Nicholas married Sarah (?) in Queens County, Long Island, New York.2 On 27 December 1657, he [Nicolas Parcell] signed the Flushing Remonstrance. It is the only record of him in Flushing.3 Nicholas made his will on 10 March 1690 at the Town of Flushing, Queens County, Long Island, New York. He left a life estate in land and personal effects to his wife Sarah, with remainder to John Thorne, son of his daughter Mary (Parcell) Thorne, and to Robert Embree, son of his daughter Sarah. Exe Wm Fowler, Wits. Aaron Corneliese and Mathias Harvey.4,5 Nicholas departed this life in the Town of Flushing. His will was probated on 21 May 1691.

Important Notes:

Many believe that the name Parcell is a misspelling of the name Pearsall. We have been researching our family for over 45 years. During that time, we also researched our connections to the Pearsall family, of which we have a few. At no time were we able to connect Nicolas, our selves to the Pearsall family. What we did find at some point, was the connection that had been made with the Pearsall’s in New York to those in England was in error. This was many years ago and we do not remember what happened, but the evidence was strong enough for us to disconnect from the English family. From what we remember, but can no longer verify, is that the connection had been fabricated. Back in the late 1800’s, this was done many times to connect the families here in the states to noble and royal families in England. Documents had been falsely created to confirm these connections. So beware . . .
